What This Addon Offers
SubTranslate provides synchronized subtitle translations for Stremio using release-matched subtitles from OpenSubtitles and AI translation through Gemini.
How it works:
Searches OpenSubtitles for matching English subtitles and ranks them based on the video hash and/or release filename.
Preserves the original subtitle timestamps — only the subtitle text is translated.
Supports 37 target languages. English is currently the supported source language.
Completed translations are cached and can be reused for the same safely matched release, so previously translated subtitles can load instantly.
Outputs TV-compatible VTT subtitle tracks.
Setup:
OpenSubtitles credentials are required to find subtitle sources. A Gemini API key is only required when a new translation needs to be created.

Provider credentials are encrypted on the server and are never included in the addon manifest URL.

How to Install
- Make sure the official Stremio app is installed and you are signed in.

Troubleshooting
If installation fails, update Stremio, disable network filtering temporarily, and open the configuration page in the same device profile where Stremio is installed. Addon availability can change because community services are independently hosted.
