Torrent caching and reuse
- Source compatibility: Uses compatible HTTP addons that return torrent hashes, magnets or explicit torrent-file links. It cannot cache direct video links or services that do not expose torrents.
- Persistent downloads: Downloads continue after the player closes and resume after a restart. Only the selected torrent file is downloaded, and duplicate sources share cached data.
- Storage limits: Defaults to a 100 GiB cache with 10 GiB of free space reserved. When space is needed, completed torrents used least recently are removed.
Local server requirements and limits
The server runs on macOS, Linux or Windows and requires Node.js 24 or newer. The computer must remain awake and reachable from the TV.
- Playback constraints: Initial playback depends on available peers. The server does not transcode, so the TV must support the video's codec.
- Interface languages: The dashboard, stream labels and other interface elements support all 51 Stremio interface locales.
- Catalog scope: No media catalog or telemetry is bundled.
